Komen Organization, at www.komen.org  is one of the most comprehensive, user-friendly, accurate and up-to-date resources available online. If you have a breast cancer diagnosis, this is a great go-to source for education.

Every Woman Counts (EWC):

EWC provides free clinical breast exams, mammograms, pelvic exams, and Pap tests to California’s underserved women. The mission of the EWC is to save lives by preventing and reducing the devastating effects of cancer for Californians through education, early detection, diagnosis and treatment, and integrated preventive services, with special emphasis on the underserved. EWC is part of the Department of Health Care Services’ Cancer Detection and Treatment Branch (CDTB).

Do you qualify for free services? You may if you:

  • Are 40 years old or older
  • Have low income (EWC Income Criteria)
  • Have no or limited insurance
  • Are not getting these services through Medi-Cal or another government-sponsored program
  • Live in California
